Deadline is July 31st!! For each song entered, please send submit entry form along with CD & typed lyric sheet. Please include your name/phone/email on everything (in case one piece gets separated from the rest). Entry fee is simply to cover costs. Anything additional will be used to help add to promotion of winners and/or prizes awarded.
First song is $10 - each additional song is just $5. You can put them all in one envelope if you like, just make sure the right lyric sheets, CDs and entry forms are together, pref. with a rubberband around them to keep intact.

(Hey, we just wanted a fun contest to promote writers, but our lawyers made us do it...)
1) This is not a publishing agreement, single song agreement, or anything other than a contest for which songwriters will be recognized for having the TOP SONG inSouthNashville. inSouthNashville.com wants to promote local talent and will have the song availalbe online for others in the community to listen to. The top five songs will be posted online and will be voted on by the public. (One vote per email address.)
2) Each song submitted must be contestant's original work. Songs may not exceed five (5) minutes in length. Contestant may submit as many songs as he/she wishes; however, each song requires a separate CD or cassette, entry form and lyric sheet. (Entry fee is non-refundable. inSouthNashville.com - is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, misappropriated, postage due, or stolen entries.)
3) Any prize give will be awarded to the name on entry form, and division of prizes among co-writers is the responsibility of that winner; however all writers listed will be given credit on website for "winning."
4) Songs will be judged based on melody, composition and lyrics. The quality of performance and production will not be considered... however, please remember that we want to post and feature your song on our website to promote YOU and the song... so the better it sounds... the better for you! If your song wins you will be allowed two days to send in a "better" version of your song for us to post. (We understand you may not be able to get studio time as quickly as you like so we will judge the song sent, and once you're named in the top 5, we will accept a more "crisp" version to 'show off.' OR... we'll just post what we get.)
5) Winners will be notified by email. Entry constitutes permission to use winners' names, likenesses, and voices for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. WE DO NOT own your song, WE WILL NOT sell your song WE WILL NOT reproduce or distribute your song except for what is necessary to get your song to each of the judges, and THEY WILL NOT reproduce or sell your song. YOU HOLD ALL RIGHTS with exception of allowing us to put it online for folks to listen to - along with your website and/or mypace URL - and to acknowledge you as a winner online and in email, radio and print communications.
6) Winners will be announced on or after May 1, 2008, after which a complete list of winners will be posted online at www.inSouthNashville.com CDs, cassettes and lyric sheets will not be returned.
7) Contestant's submission of an entry into the contest constitutes his/her agreement to release, indemnify and hold harmless inSouthNashville.com from and against any claim, including, without limitation, of copyright infringement or other misappropriation, arising from any acts or omissions in connection with the contest or its operation.
8) We reserve the rights to change dates, prizes and anything else as the need arises. Our hopes that the prizes would GROW, but as we cannot guarantee that, we simply reserve the right to give more, or to stick with what we have. Hey - this is a local project to help the merchants inSouthNashville get the word out about their businesses and for the residents to receive great offers from these merchants. And... we want to make it a fun and interactive site, with contests and awards. We are in the business of promotions... and are happy to have you to promote!
